Playoff Hockey?

They call the playoffs the second season. Being the top seed in the conference just gets you an extra home game. The only team that won't help is the Sharks but really playoffs are all about how is solid defensively and in net. Look at the last couple of years with Anaheim, Carolina, Edmonton, and Calgary. Yes my team is the Red Wings and having won 3 Cups in ten years but it still comes down to who can stop the other team. That is the reason they play the games. Gone are the days of old where you are going to see multiple Cups won by the same team consecutively with free agency and just the overall quality of the playoff teams.
